AC Repair in Miami, FL
Warm air from the vents, a unit that won't start, water around the air handler: we diagnose the actual cause before recommending a repair, so you aren't guessing between a small fix and a bigger decision.

Common AC problems we repair
South Florida systems run for most of the year, so wear shows up in predictable places. These are the problems that come up most often:
AC running but not cooling
Weak or warm airflow can come from a dirty evaporator coil, a failing capacitor or contactor, a refrigerant leak, or restricted airflow. Each has a different fix, which is why a diagnosis comes first. If only some rooms are affected, ducts may be the cause: see duct repair.
Frozen evaporator coil
Ice on the indoor coil or refrigerant line usually points to low airflow or low refrigerant. Running the system while it is iced up can damage the compressor.
Water leaking or drain line clogs
Humidity means a lot of condensate. Algae and sludge clog the drain line, and a backed-up pan can trip the float switch and shut the system off or drip into the ceiling.
Won't turn on or keeps shutting off
Thermostat faults, tripped safety switches, bad capacitors, failed fan motors and control board issues can all look the same from the living room.
Strange noises or smells
Rattling, buzzing, grinding or a burning smell are worth a call. Some causes are minor; others get worse quickly if the unit keeps running.
High power bills with no change in use
A system that has to run longer to hold temperature is often dirty, low on charge or struggling with a worn part.
What to check before you call
A few quick checks can save time, and they are safe to do yourself:
- Confirm the thermostat is set to Cool, below the current room temperature, and has fresh batteries if it uses them.
- Check that the air filter isn't clogged. A very dirty filter can choke airflow and cause icing.
- Look at your breaker panel for a tripped breaker for the indoor and outdoor units.
- Look for standing water near the air handler. If you see it, turn the system off to avoid more damage.
Don't remove panels, handle capacitors or add refrigerant yourself. Those jobs involve stored electrical energy and regulated refrigerants.
How an AC repair visit works
- You call or send a request. Tell us the symptoms, the type of system, and whether it's a house, condo or commercial space.
- Diagnosis. The technician checks airflow, electrical components, the thermostat, the drain line and the refrigerant circuit to find the cause.
- Options explained. You hear what failed, what it takes to fix it, and whether a repair makes sense for the age and condition of the system.
- Repair and test. After the work is done, the system is run to confirm it cools and drains properly.
Repair or replace?
Most breakdowns are repairable. When a system is old, has repeated failures, or needs a major component, it can be worth comparing the cost of repair against replacement. If that comes up, we'll lay out both options. You can read more about AC replacement or how a new system is sized in AC installation.
AC repair for Miami homes and condos
Humidity, salt air near the coast and long cooling seasons put more strain on equipment than in most of the country. Coils corrode faster near Biscayne Bay and the beaches, and condensate lines clog quickly. In condo buildings, access rules, shared risers and building approvals can affect how and when work is done. If you're in a high-rise, see our page for HVAC service in Brickell, or check the full list of areas we serve.
If the system quit and it's an urgent situation, go straight to emergency AC repair.
Questions about ac repair
Why is my AC blowing warm air?
Common causes are a dirty filter or coil, a failed capacitor or fan motor, a refrigerant leak, a frozen coil, or a thermostat setting. A technician needs to test the system to tell which one it is.
Why is there water around my indoor unit?
Usually a clogged condensate drain line or a full drain pan. Switch the system off if water is pooling and call for service, since water can damage ceilings and floors.
Is it okay to keep running an AC that is freezing up?
No. Turn it off and let it thaw. Running it while iced can strain the compressor. Low airflow or low refrigerant is usually behind it, and both need a proper fix.
Do you repair all AC brands?
Tell us the make and model when you call. Most common residential and light commercial split systems and package units can be diagnosed, and we'll say upfront if something is outside what we handle.
